Bo Kovitz is an investigative reporter, visual journalist and documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on lives outside the mainstream. Her reporting explores issues in criminal justice, environmental justice, public health and education. She is currently an advisor for incarcerated writers at the San Quentin News at San Quentin State Prison. 

Bo began her career as a city news editor at the award-winning independent student newspaper The Daily Californian. She has worked as an associate producer and researcher on documentary films that have been featured in Sundance Lab, POV, GoodPitch and PBS Frontline. She is based in Berkeley, where she is earning her Master's Degree in documentary film at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
